Tally Privacy Policy

Vea Software LLC built Tally, a Mac menu bar app for monitoring AI token usage and subscription quotas across Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Cursor, and Grok. This page explains what information Tally reads and what happens to it. The short version: your prompts, transcripts, and keys stay on your Mac, and Vea Software never sees them.

Local Transcripts and Token Counts

Tally reads local transcript logs stored on your Mac (`~/.claude`, `~/.codex`, `~/.gemini/antigravity-cli`, `~/.cursor`, and `~/.grok`) to count token usage by day and by model. Tally never stores or transmits the text of your prompts, responses, or code. Only aggregate token numbers, model names, and byte offsets are cached locally in Application Support.

Credentials and Quota Requests

Software Updates

About once a day, and when you choose Check for Updates, Tally asks GitHub (`api.github.com`) for the list of Tally releases, sending only the app's name and version. You can turn off automatic update checks in Tally's settings at any time.

Analytics, Tracking and Advertising

Tally contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code, does not use cookies, and never sends usage data to Vea Software.

Data Deletion

You can clear Tally's cached token history at any time in Tally Settings → General → Clear Cached Usage History. Deleting the app removes its settings.
