Deskhand Release Notes
Deskhand checks for updates once a day and offers to install them. To have updates install on their own when you quit Deskhand, turn on automatic updates in its settings. You can also choose Check for Updates from its menu, or download the latest version. Requires macOS 27.
2026.2.0

- Drag to snap: drag a window to the left or right edge for half the screen, a corner for a quarter, the top edge to maximize, or the bottom edge for a third. A preview shows where it will land.
- Drag to unsnap: dragging a snapped window away gives it back its earlier size.
- If macOS's own tiling is on (Desktop & Dock → Windows), Deskhand leaves the edges macOS handles to it, so windows aren't snapped twice. Settings → Windows explains how to use Deskhand's layouts there instead.
- Both can be turned off in Settings → Windows.

The first release of Deskhand: window snapping, app shortcuts and screenshots in one menu bar app.
- Windows: snap the front window to halves, quarters, thirds and two-thirds, maximize, center, resize, restore, or move it to another display. Press a half again to cycle through ½, ⅔ and ⅓.
- App shortcuts: give any app a shortcut that opens it, brings it to the front, or hides it when it's already in front.
- Screenshots: capture an area, a window or the whole screen, then drag the thumbnail into another app, annotate it, pin it above your windows, or save it. Copy the text in any part of the screen.
- Automation:
